Professional
and Life Training
Erik Mildes is a Licensed-eligible Mental
Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in counseling from
Mars Hill Graduate School and a private practice, Greenlake Counseling,
in the Greenlake community of North Seattle.
Erik has successfully worked with students,
adults and children of many ages. His experience as a counselor
began with youth ministry working with the children and families
of the Fairview Christian Church youth ministry and continued through
time spent at Seattle Pacific University as a counselor in the Student
Counseling Center. Through this time Erik has also taken up working
with a family in the community in the care of their children for
both short and extended periods of time.
Erik has found faith and family to be
an integral part of his decision-making, curiosity, and professional
growth. He believes strongly in personal choice and feels that a
person can redefine who s/he is at any point in life. Erik relies
primarily on mental health concepts within clinical settings. However,
his diverse training allows clients to bring religion into the therapeutic
relationship if desired. Erik's colleagues note that he displays
unconditional acceptance, energy, and insight to his clients. He
helps people recognize that life is a continuum of stabilization
and transformation with history, connection, hope, and assessment
being critical to understanding personal experience.
In his free time Erik is an avid mountain
biker, snowboarder and reader. He enjoys spending time with his
wife and friends in both leisure and adventures on a grand scale.
